Kindergarten

The Kindergarten Program meets the needs of those children who will be 5 years old by December 31. The kindergarten program offers a curriculum for children who have completed a 4 year old Pre-K program. The program utilizes a whole literature approach offering children integrated learning experiences in language, reading, math, science & social studies concepts. Readiness for reading is developed through rich language experiences & exposure to numerous literature based activities. Following the High Scope framework, hands on learning activities will enhance the older preschool child's educational needs. Attendance in the kindergarten program will not enable a student to circumvent the local cut off date for kindergarten attendance in the public school. School districts may enforce particular school entrance dates up until second grade. Full day students who wish to attend the kindergarten program will be grouped together & participate in a Pre-K & Kind. Enrichment program for the AM session.
